Kendrick Lamar Emerges Biggest Winner, Nigeria's Ayra Starr Wins Best Intl Act
The 25th edition of the annual Black Entertainment Television Awards B.E.T hosted by American stand-up comedian and actor Kevin Hart; went down live at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles California United States on Monday June 9th 2025; which saw Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr to pick up the Best International Act award.
The BET awards is aimed at recognising and celebrating the achievements of African American entertainers and other individuals who have excelled in their chosen fields such as music film sports and philanthropy.

For 25 years the B.E.T awards often referred to as culture's biggest night has held in the United States and for the 2025 ceremony as hosted by Kevin Hart it was an unforgettable night of celebrating black culture.
37 year old American Rapper songwriter and music producer Kendrick Lamar was the standout winner of the night; taking home four awards: Album of the Year, Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year and the Best Collaboration; of the 10 categories he was nominated in.
Not just that Kendrick Lamar also shared the Video Director of the Year honours with his longtime creative partner Dave Free.
In the R&B category, the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist award went to Chris Brown while
SZA took home Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.
