APC Confirms Resignation Of Party's National Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the resignation of its national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje who threw in the towel as the number one member of the party on Friday June 27th 2025.

Abdullahi Ganduje a former governor of Kano State resigned his position citing health reasons.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party Felix Morka who confirmed Ganduje’s resignation in a statement said the quit which takes immediate effect was to enable the former chairman attend to urgent and important personal matters.

His resignation letter was addressed to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) through the national secretary Ajibola Basiru.

Morka also confirmed the appointment of APC’s Deputy National Chairman (North) Ali Dalori as the acting chairman of the party pending when the National Executive Committee (NEC) meets in December.

Morka lauded Abdullahi Ganduje's invaluable contributions and distinguished record of service to the party.

The statement reads:

“Throughout his tenure, he dedicated himself to strengthening the party’s unity and cohesion, expounding its democratic ideals and enhancing the party’s electoral competitiveness”.

“The confidence placed in him by the party’s NEC and national caucus meetings in February 2025 was a profound recognition and honour for his service.

“He leaves his position as national chairman with great pride in our collective achievements, including successful defections from opposition parties and legal affirmations of our party leadership’s legitimacy.”

In August 2023 Abdullahi Ganduje became the National Chairman of APC following the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu.
