Joint National Assembly Suspends Legislative Duties In Honour Of Muhammadu Buhari

As part of tributes to Nigeria's late former President Muhammadu Buhari lawmakers in both chambers of the National Assembly have suspended legislative activities in honour of the departed leader who died Sunday July 13, 2025 in London.

Hence the leadership of the Senate led by  Godswill Akpabio and the Speaker House of Representatives

Tajudeen Abass in a statement signed by the clerk of the house Kamoru Ogunlana have urged lawmakers to reschedule their engagements so as to participate in the burial activities of the former president.

Meanwhile the Federal Government has declared Tuesday July 15 2025 as public holiday across the country in recognition of Muhammadu Buhari’s legacy.

The late Nigerian leader Muhammadu Buhari would be given a state funeral same day in accordance with Islamic rites in his hometown in Daura, Katsina State.
