Union Bank PLC Champions Public-Private Partnership To Reform Public Service

In an effort to reposition Nigeria's public service in line with global best practices one of Nigeria's foremost financial institutions in Nigeria Union Bank has partnered with the Nigeria Civil Service Commission to drive reforms that would bring about the needed digital transformation in Nigeria’s public service.

Union Bank reiterated the concern at the 2-day maiden International Civil Service Conference held at the Eagle Square Arena, Abuja from June 25th to 26th 2025.

The conference, themed “Rejuvenate, Innovate And Accelerate,” brought together civil servants policymakers and development partners to deliberate on reforms and digital innovations required to transform Nigeria’s public service.

The event organised by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in partnership with the Global Government Forum in the United Kingdom; highlighted critical priorities such as strong inclusive leadership, fostering agile and digital culture and effective public service delivery structures that transcend organisational silos. 

These initiatives closely align with Union Bank’s expertise in delivering innovative digital banking solutions while supporting public sector efficiency.

Union Bank's Executive Director, North and Public Sector Mannir Ringim, in a statement

Ringim added that Union Bank's participation in the inaugural International Civil Service Conference is a reflection of its leadership in public sector collaboration.

The International Civil Service Conference was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and senior public sector leaders from across Africa, an initiative that reinforces the bank's role as a key enabler of Nigeria’s development and sustainable economic growth.
